Tegea
The most important city of Arcadia in history, trade center of
the age and it has the theatre of marble which was built in 175 b.C.
and the stadium where topic fights took place called “Aleaia”.
The Archaic temple who burned in about 395 b.C, was rebuild from the
sculptor Scopa in 340 b.C. to shelter the elephantine statue of
goddess Athena. Today are saved only a few sections of the temple. |
