Stupa is a coastal
vilage in the Messinian Mani with a very ancient history which can
charm the visitor all the year round. Here lived for a sufficiently time the writer Nick
Kazantzakis with Alexis Zorbas. They worked together in mines of
lignite in Pastroba and he inspired and write the world-wide known
film " Zorbas the Greek" At the outskirts of Stoupa is the castle
of Lefctrou. It was used during the Mikinaikous ages to the
Pelloponnese wars and during the prevail of the Franks period
(1204-1259), where it is
known as castle of Bofor.In summer, the sea and the sandy beaches
tempt all lovers of the sun and sea. The area has many beaches,but the
more popular
beaches are the beach of Stupa and the beach of Kalogria. Over
75 hotels, rooms to rent , camping, shops, over 35 tavernas-
restaurant with
fresh fishes, nicht clubs and cafe.

How to get there. Flights from Athens or by
international Charter directly to Kalamata. The airport is 10 km
from the city. TRAIN From Athens-Kalamata or Patras -Kiparissia-
Kalamata. BUS Athens-Kalamata or Patras - Kalamata and Kardamili - Stupa and by Ship from Piraus or
Kisamos "Kasteli" Kreta
