Finikouda is a picturesque coastal village, built on the sand, at the mid of wonderful beaches that form a natural lace, small and large beaches, sandy or pebbly. It has perfect tourist infrastructure and of course, many visitors. The locals know Finikouda as “Taverna”, a name that the place took from the fishermen of the region that would reach the beach in order to relax and enjoy the good wine at the unique tavern and at the same time the unique building of the “village”. 

Today, Finikouda shows significant development and attracts tourists from all around the world. It is located at the southwest edge of Messinia, Peloponnese . The village is built on a wonderful beach on the route from Pilos-Methoni and Finikouda to Koroni. In area is the Oenussae complex, consisting of the islands Schiza, Aghia Marina, and Sapientza, an island of rare beauty.  

Even though Finikouda is mainly thought of as a place to relax by the sea, it also has cuktural activity. 

The cultural Club hosts theatrical plays at the open amphitheatre by the port, and during the whole summer, there is a book exhibition with a variety of books to choose from. For several years, there has been a very active Cultural Club here in Finikouda, featuring a number of activities. It has organized a lot of book exhibitions during the summer and a large number of theatrical performances in the open theater of Finikouda.

On the beach within the settlement, on the surrounding hills – with view at the sea – where you can enjoy traditional Greek food as well as tastes from around the world. Besides the wonderful beaches, Finikouda has a variety of places where one can enjoy a drink, refreshment, or just coffee by the sea, or with great view.
